week 4

Week 4 had definitely my favorite workshop of the module. We were producing 2 five-minute programmes for kids. Przemek told us to have two production meetings. During the first one we had to pick a book we wanted to read, and then later draft a script. For this week I chose to be a scriptwrtier and a caption person.
The book we chose was The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The producers went and got some copies of the book, and after I was handed one, I could start writing the script. It did not cause me any trouble, as I remembered all the mistakes we made the previous week.

We had to prepare not only the script but also a short intro, music, sound effects and credits. We had to prepare the set as well.
As one of the caption people, I was responsible for changing the pages of the book, so the next camera shot could show the fragment that our presenter was currently reading out.

The recording was going really smoothly, and after a couple of takes Przemek told us to switch the roles. Now I was a camera person, and my friend Lucy took my place.

This week was definitely the easiest one for me, as I was familiar with writing the script, and changing captions was not that difficult. To be honest, I struggled with it at first, and did not turn some pages over on time, but after one or two rehearsals I had no problems with it.

At the end of the class, Przemek as usual showed us the programme we managed to record, and it turned out really good! He was very pleased with our performance and then he asked us all to take a group photo.

Week 4 was definitely the most pleasant week for me. It felt more like fun than work and I have some really good memories from that workshop.
